Top 40 Radio Says ‘Gimme More’ To Britney Spears

After Britney Spears’ new single ‘Gimme More’ was leaked to Z100 last week, some thought the early spins it got were more for curiosity and the real test would be the follow-on days. As of Sunday, the track Britney is reportedly performing at the MTV Video Music Awards received 745 spins, putting it at #47 on Mediabase’s Top 40 chart. Even at the peak of Britney’s popularity, the knock on her was that she didn’t get much U.S. radio play (see Wikipedia for evidence), so this early success must be relieving Jive.
