RCA general manager Richard Sanders, who will start recording tracks with the three ‘American Idol’ finalists next month, tells Edna Gundersen of USA Today, “Creatively, everything is moving forward. We’ve met with a number of writers. In picking songs, some are non-gender specific, some are suited for men or women. In three weeks, we have to start hedging our bets.” As for who might be producing the songs, which he says will be original material, Sanders said, “Producers and songwriters are receptive. If I’d approached them four months ago, they would have said, ‘No way.’ Now they’re seeing 8 million people voting each week. Everyone wants a taste of this.” Read more.
