Tough Odds For A Whitney Houston Comeback

Ken Barnes of USA Today spoke with music fans on Tuesday including one who wanted to know if he felt Whitney Houston could recover from her numerous problems and recovery as a top rate musician.

“It’ll be tough after the last album failed to ignite with an across-the-board hit,” Barnes responded. “Her media encounters haven’t really helped. She may well have passed over into the /Courtney Love zone, where she’s better known as a freako celebrity than a world-class singer. Sad, really.” Read more.

How could this mess happen to such a gifted vocalist. She’s our era’s Billie Holliday. Horrible live performances, Bad interviews, terrible image, This is a disaster waiting to happen. Someone needs to hug this fool.

Its really sad. I mean, Whitney was THE ONE for our generation. I don’t think she’ll ever return to the status she had.

I think that with the amount of talent this woman has, if she really cleans up her act, she can definitely have a good comeback. To start, dump bobby, check into rehab, make a slamming album with an inspiring single and she will win everyone’s heart again :)

Is The voice there?? Did you see Divas’ Live, She had no voice.

Whitney is in the same boat as Mariah. Their careers both started going to crap around the same time. Whitney had her drugs and Mariah went mental. Can anyone remember the last hit song either of these woman had.

  6. MariahsMan says:

Mariah and Whitney are not in the same boat. Mariah is still making music and continuing with her career. Whitney is battling a drug addiction and trying to clean up her life. Stop with the stupid comments already.

  7. MistySl says:

Whitney is Messed up, Mariah just seems depressed, that’s normal, lots of people are

  8. weebongo says:

They are in the same boat. All their singles form their last albums were huge flops. Whitney & Mariah can no longer get radio airplay and have become national jokes. No one takes either of them seriously as an artist anymore.

Actually, it’s credited as Busta AND Mariah, it’s credited as a duet! The cameo artists in the song were the Flipmode Squad. Even on his album is says Busta AND Mariah FEATURING the Flipmode Squad!!!! Just another Top 10 hit for MC!

Weebongo, can you construct a sentence without speaking Mariah’s name? This topic has NOTHING to do with Mariah! And they SURE as hell ain’t in the same boat, Mariah made her comeback, her album “Charmbracelet” is almost 1.5 million in the US and about 5 worldwide, while Whitney’s “Just Whitney” is still in the 700,000’s. Mariah’s sales are DOUBLED from Whitney’s. Whitney may be a joke right now because she’s going through her personal problems, Mariah went through her’s 3 YEARS ago!!!! No one even talks about her tough times anymore, only you haters who have NOTHING else to say! You can say Mariah is a joke if you please, but please give me examples of how? Over these past 2 years Mariah has made her comeback, she was getting made fun of by comedians and stuff back in 2001, but people know all her drama is over. Mariah is DEFINITELY not in the same boat as Whitney! You need to look at the situation in an unbiased view for a change, if that’s possible!

Mariah Whitney same crap. Is there really a difference between these two has-beens. BOMB-bracelet has not sold 5 million worldwide. As unpopular as she is in the states she’s even more unpopular all over the world. Where’s your proof that she has sold 5 million. You keep posting that but no link. That’s cause you know you’re full of crap. Mariah didn’t sell 5 million of that album and that has-been whore never will never sell anything close to that again.
