Tyler Hilton Album Update
Tyler Hilton checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace on Wednesday (July 8), offering an update on his new album. The singer songwriter tells readers:
Record Update! How much have I caught you up on? Well, I’m in the studio with Matt Serletic (Aerosmith, Matchbox 20) cutting 7 new tunes for this ever growing volume of music I’ve been dangling in front of you for the last few years. My plan is to finish these 7 tunes in the next couple weeks and among the 25 or so songs I’ve recorded, pick 13 to be the finished LP…
But why keep recording? Why cut 7 new tunes? And, why Serletic? To me there’s a difference between 13 good songs and a good album. This record deserves to be looked at as a full piece of work, not just disjointed chapters. And to be honest, that’s what I thought it was when all was said and done a month ago. I challenged myself to write another song or 2 that would improve the work as a whole and ended up writing 7. I know, I was annoyed too. Dry spells, wet spells, I have no control.
