Uh…Where Did Avril Lavigne Go?

Last year around this time, everyone was talking about Avirl Lavigne. But now I have to wonder, where did Avril Lavigne go? I was never really a big fan of hers but I respected that she had her own opinions and her own fashion taste. Her music wasn’t all that original but yet people loved her. In June a friend of mine asked if I wanted to go to an Avril Lavigne concert. I thought sure what the heck I mean it can’t be that bad. It was horrible! She sang way off key and had no show really, just stood there with a picture of a star behind her. I thought of many things that night trying to get the sound out of my brain but what really stuck out was all the work they must do in the recording studio to make her sound good. Did the media just eat her up because of a tie and not baring a midriff, adding a little mystery? She shows attitude in interviews. If she doesn’t want to be there, why is she there? I went to a Britney Spears concert about two years ago and I wasn’t really a fan of hers either but her dancing and performing was just so amazing you didn’t even care if she lipsynched or not.
Is Avril famous because of her musical talent? Because if she is…. I need proof. Or is she just famous because of her different (cough cough POSER) style. As Spears is ready to come back into the scene in the next few weeks, does Avril have what it takes to come back if she is nowhere in sight?
