Undercurrent Of Anger On ‘Hotel Paper’

Dan Aquilante of the New York Post reviewed Michelle Branch’s latest effort ‘Hotel Paper’, giving it 3 stars. “There’s an undercurrent of anger on this record that Branch manages to channel and transform into rock intensity,” he said. “You’ll hear it on ‘Empty Handed,’ ‘Breathe’ and also the title track. There’s only one occasion where she gets a little sappy – on the ballad ‘Desperately’ but that isn’t a side she often indulges.”
