U.S. SABERA Foundation Launches With Ricky’s Help

Ricky Martin has lended his support to the SABERA Foundation that will soon be launched in the U.S. by Melanie Griffith, Penelope Cruz and Esther Canadas. The non-profit organization is committed to changing the lives of street children and on improving the difficult situation faced by both widows and women who have been abandoned by their husbands.

“From 1984-1989 I had the opportunity to be an international ambassador for peace and work with various charity organizations around the world. Just a few weeks ago, I traveled to the Kalitala home that the SABERA Foundation has created in Calcutta. The difference between the children that I worked with before and the girls in Kalitala is the amount of love that I saw in their eyes, which is a direct result of the affection and love that they are receiving on a daily basis from the people at the foundation,” said Ricky Martin. “In Kalitala, the SABERA Foundation has created a universe that is a part of our universe, but different from ours in that in Kalitala, you can only find respect, love and lots of prosperity. It is an honor to work with the SABERA Foundation as they continue to dedicate their efforts to improving the lives of the girls in India. Hopefully this is only the beginning of what the SABERA Foundation will achieve around the world.”

Ricky Martin Says It’s Easy To Tire Of Fame

Ricky Martin recently chatted with CNNenespanol.com and was asked if he gets tired of fame. “It is very easy to get tired of fame because there are many sacrifices,” he said. “But thanks to the people who I have around me and the foundations and love in the home have made me a strong human being.”

Sila Calderon at a peace conference at the Caribbean Hilton Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Monday (August 12). At the conference Arias denounced a recent U.S. decision to cut funding to the U.N. Population Fund, saying the lives of poor women were being put in jeopardy.

The National Enquirer reports Ricky Martin was spotted buying baby clothes at the Old Navy store in Los Angeles. Martin bought up several hundred dollars worth of merchandise, shocking moms at the store.
