Vanessa Carlton hopes her first-ever headlining tour bucks preconceived notions about what type of artist she is. “If you kind of aren’t paying that much attention to the girl behind the songs you might jump the gun and think that the music’s safe or that it, you know, just goes down easy and that it’s something that’s just kind of innocuous or whatever,” she said. “And you go to the show and you realize it’s very intense and I’m really excited because a lot of people leave the show thinking, ‘Wow, she’s a real musician and she’s not part of some trend.’” Read more.
