Vanessa Carlton Urges Fans To Vote For John Kerry

August 7, 2004 – Vanessa Carlton posted a message to fans on her official forum on Thursday (July 5), urging them to register to vote and to vote for the Democratic candidate John Kerry. Carlton wrote, “I hope you guys (over 18) have registered to vote! If you haven’t, go to That website will show you the light. If you all vote Kerry, I’ll give you invisible cheek kisses. All of us together have the power to improve and change our government (which could make our lives a whole hell of a lot better. Health insurance anyone?). Anyway, can’t wait for you all to hear the record! Peace V.”

ya I’ll vote alright but not Kerry. Bush all the way

kerry can’t even make up his mind on important issues concerning the nation- ask him an yes or no question and he rather stay neutral so he can see which is most popular, then jumps on the bandwagon to be with the ‘in’ crowd. I don’t want a wishy-washy president, that ain’t president material.

Kerry is a bad choice. Kerry will be worse than anything. He has no idea of Foreign politics. He never has. If you haven’t guessed he supported a lot of what President Bush started to do then like all Democrats backed off when it sort of went sour. (Even gay mariage) Kerry was against it and now he supports it, wonder why maybe cause he sees Bush is getting bashed. Anyway back to where left off If Clinton had done his job right, there would have never been a 9/11. The attack on the naval ship and American Embassies in Africa were acts of war. He went after Osama Bin Laden, missed and then quit. He was scared to tackle him in the way Bush did. If you think Gore would have been better, take a look at what Clinton did and you have your answer. We would have had more attacks and nothing done. No as far as the war on terror is concerned Bush has been right except for the lousy intelligence given for Iraq. That people is entirely Clinton’s fault. He ripped and tore the intelligence community apart. He destroyed the rapid deployement of US troops anywhere in the world.

You’re intelligent (sarcasm)! I guess you want high unemployment, low wages (and an overall f**ked up economy), war, and lies? I think I want that too! It’s the American dream

I’m voting for Kerry, even though I usually vote Republican, but I really don’t think people should choose who they vote for based on who celebrities tell them to vote for. Anyone who decides “oh, yeah, I’m gonna vote for Kerry because Bruce Springsteen and Vanessa Carlton and Justin Timberlake support him,” is an idiot and shouldn’t be voting at all.

Most people on popdirt are still in High and Middle School. Although I know a lot of bright HS students, most are not exactly the most intelligent/open minded people around. Once they (hopefully) get out in the real world and get exposed to more things that don’t mesh with their own value systems and beliefs, they may become a little less judgmental.

Exactly why anyone who thinks the voting age should be 16 should be locked up. I’m 15 and even I think that.

Yah vote or you’ll die like P.Diddy says! oy vay. I’m really starting to hate celebrities flaunting their political crap. do they honestly think people (especially young voters) will vote because they tell them to or they;ll vote in favor of their fave artist??? gimme a break! anyway it seems to me if that’s the case then Kerry gets all the points because all the celebrities are flocking to his side.these young voters don’t care. face it. they don’t care about the issues or anything! just as long as VANESSA Carlton or whoever votes! so stupid.

  6. Fairycute7 says:

IMO, all these Kerry supporting celebs are committing career suicide because they look like MORONS! Its totally admirable to say (in a non-partisan way) “Get out there and vote.” But when they use their “celebrity power” to sway voters, they looks so dumb. I’m glad Bush doesn’t need Hollywood backing him in order to get place. I voted for Bush 4 years ago and I will do it again! Bush/Cheney 04!!!! Flush the Johns *gag*

I’m very happy to see that there is intelligent people on this site! I totally agree with you. Kerry is THE WORST choice there is. If Kerry is elected president then we’ll really see how low this country can go.

I love it when Celebrities voice their opinion. Most celebrities don’t, they sit back and try to make everyone happy. These few who are saying what they believe in rock! I don’t care who they are for, just the fact that they are showing that they actually care about the US is great! P.S. Kerry/Edwards ’04!
