Varsity Fanclub Allowed Creative Freedom On Debut CD
KOL Music caught up with Varsity Fanclub in a Q&A, asking the boyband how much effort each of the guys put into their self-titled debut album. “Being new artists, we’re actually given a lot of creative freedom on our first record,” Jayk Purdy responded. “Drew [Scott] has 6 songs he’s written or co-wrote. A few of us have a few songs that we co-wrote on the album.”
As for who decides what goes into their music videos, Drew said, “We all have our own ideas we put in the plot. We’re shooting the music video for ‘Future Love’ in 2 weeks. Our choreographer came up with the concept. It’s a really cool concept. And you just got to wait till the video comes out.” Check out the full transcript here.
