Was Clay Aiken Treated Unfairly By TRL?

Contributed by popnicklover:

I watched Monday’s TRL episode where ‘American Idol 2′ runner-up, Clay Aiken, and winner, Ruben Studdard, both appeared as guests. I was hoping for in depth interviews with the both of them or live performances. Instead, what I got was Carson Daly taking them away from the Manhattan TRL studio and to Hampton Beach (I think that was the place), where Carson talked to American Idol fans. The fans he talked to got to meet Ruben and Clay, but also got their pictures taken, hugging Ruben while Carson made Clay click away on a camera. Do you think this was appropriate behavior from TRL, treating Clay this way as though he was apart of the staff instead of a guest? I went to the TRL message board and a lot of Clay Aiken fans seemed to be upset by this. I personally don’t think it was fair that Clay was treated this way, but I also want to know what all of you here think. Was Clay treated fairly by TRL, or was he being disrespected as a guest?
