Richard Abowitz of Las Vegas Weekly gave a satirical preview of Celine Dion’s ‘A New Day’ show which kicks off next week. Abowitz admits, “I would rather have voices in my head demanding that I sacrifice my cats to Satan than hear Celine Dion sing.” But he still predicts success. “I think the show will be a huge success,” he said. “Though Dion has broad appeal as a singer, she was smart to bring in a Cirque stud to make sure the audience got more than her greatest-hits set. No matter how big and charismatic the star is, visitors to Las Vegas expect more than a concert. A New Day wraps the pop diva in a big, gaudy, eye-inspiring production show.”
