Welcome To The Real World Michael Jackson

John Gibson of Fox News made the target of his ‘My Word’ segment on Tuesday. Gibson said, “. It was probably better when he was the silent star, the gloved one, the mysterious Jacko heard on radios everywhere and occasionally seen. Now we have outraged star on a mission. It’s an odd role for this guy. Now he’s going after the record company, Sony Music and its particularly for racism. The racism is evidently all about ripping off black artists. Now I used to work in what was known as the record business. It’s true. Artists did get ripped off and many of them were black. But that was then. And this is a man heading Sony music, who has been especially supportive of African-American artists.”

“If Michael Jackson is feeling ripped off, I would wager it’s a mess of his own devising. This is a guy who had enough money he could pay off a kid that accused him of child molestation, $20 million, and not miss it. Those civil suit settlements are supposed to hurt. There was no evidence at the time that Michael Jackson was hurt in the slightest. Shortly after, he went and bought one of the most valuable music publishing catalogs, Beatles Publishing, and he’s finally started to miss that $20 million. If anybody thinks that case slipped away to the recesses of time where he can say, well, nobody’s sure what happened between Michael and that boy, let me tell you. I read the secret report of what the boy told authorities Michael Jackson did with him. It was so devastating, Jackson elected to forgo a trial and pay the $20 million.”

“Now can people rise above their tawdry past? Sure. Should Jackson have his past thrown in his face if he raises a legitimate beef with his record company? No. Who is Michael Jackson to complain about racism in the music business? Is there any evidence by anything but the color of money has had any bearing on his adult career? This absurd. Jackson has a money beef with Sony. How much was spent on his failing album? Upwards $55 million has been reported. How much was spent to report. It what Jackson will get back and how much he will be expected to pay himself if and when the album ultimately fails.”

“Michael Jackson used to be black. Then came the period where he appeared white. But scratch the surface and he is green through and through. This is all about money. And evidently for the first time, the Thriller is in a genuine panic about money. Welcome to the real world, Michael. Never-never land is over. That’s ‘My Word.'”
