Some of Westlife’s biggest hits have been covers – like the Terry Jacks-popularized ‘Seasons In The Sun’, Abba’s ‘I Have A Dream’ Billy Joel’s ‘Uptown Girl’, and their latest single, ‘Mandy’ by Barry Manilow. But the members insist that there’s much more to them than covers. “We do covers because our fans like them,” Shane Filan tells Mid-Day Mumbai. “But there are a lot of originals that we work on, and they’re also pretty big.”
