The Glasgow Daily Record spoke with Westlife’s Nicky Byrne who said the group won’t be attending Tuesday night’s Brit Awards in London after not receiving any nominations. “The Brits awards is all politics,” Byrne fumed. “They’re about trying to get American artists and the biggest acts across the Atlantic to sell the show. The Brit awards aren’t really the British music awards because they are not really representing every act that sells on this side of the water They’re selling the show off the back of American artists like Justin Timberlake. We’ve won two previous Brits. This is the second or third year we haven’t been nominated and we are learning to get on with it.”
