The Sydney Morning Herald chatted with Westlife star Nicky Byrne who admitted to being demoralized by their attempt to crack America two years ago. “We left America early. We said, ‘We’re not going back until the record company sorts itself out’. It disheartened us. With all the success we’d had in the UK and Europe, all of a sudden we were going to the States and playing car parks and shopping malls.” Byrne added, “We sold a million records in the US, but a million records for a country that size is not huge. You’d like to be selling at least 3 [million] to 10million.” Read more.
