The website, Dirty Little Secrets, noticed a unique feature about the Backstreet Boys’ official site. AJ McLean’s picture has been replaced with a different person! The picture that has AJ missing (the one on the site) and the original picture that has AJ in it have since been removed.
Since it’s a background for the VH1 Ultimate AJ Fan, they likely did it as a way to demonstrate somebody “becoming” AJ.
