Tenley Woodman of the Boston Herald reviewed the Backstreet Boys’ concert at the Avalon on Thursday night (March 24). Woodman writes, “Nick Carter, the band’s youngest member, still sings like the whining 13-year old he was when he joined the group. His mike time is based on his blonde hair and blue eyes, not his voice.” Woodman suggested, “If the group wants to thrive in this transitional period, they need to make McLean more of a front man. His voice is the only unique element in the act.”
