Why I Love Justin Timberlake
As a bisexual guy, it gets hard sometimes to feel okay with liking a male pop artist. Not only do most people find bisexuality in men strange, but the selection of men in pop music seems more and more limited. Lets face it, most male pop stars either vanish after one cd or turn into cartoonish goofballs that are never heard from again. There are few male popstars I actually like. I do like Ricky Martin, but he overplayed his image and overstayed his welcome here in the US and I fully understand why he’s no longer the star he once was. I love Michael Jackson’s music, but his personal life has completely overshadowed his music career.
That’s why I love Justin Timberlake so much. Justin is the guy everyone wants to be around. You either want to be with him or you just wanna hang out with him. He seems like the kind of guy everyone wants to be friends with and party with. I don’t know anyone from my generation more talented than him. Not only is he sexy as can be, but he’s a wonderful performer. He sings and has an amazing voice, he plays the piano and the guitar and does it so damn well and he’s basically the best dancer on the planet. Not only does he shine wherever he goes and scores at whatever he tries to do, but he seems like a really good, genuine guy who’s actually happy to be getting to do what he loves.
When I went to the Justified & Stripped Tour (twice by the way) he made the entire audience feel like they were apart of the show. He made everyone get involved and everyone had a blast. And there were a few times (because I’m 6′4” and was in the front row the first time) that he looked directly at me and just started smiling. I think that’s really cool. Most guys’ egos wouldn’t allow them to have male fans that were just as excited to see them as the girls are, but Justin just seemed very cool and at ease and very thankful to be feeling the audience’s love from both the girls and the guys.
After working with many children’s charities and doing many selfless acts, I can’t help but love Justin. I was never a fan of boy bands, but because of my love for music, I do know about them and I do know the transition Justin has made from Nsync to solo superstar is unheard of. I, unlike many of his fans, wish him and Cameron all the best.
I do think Britney hurt him (even though I love Brit to death) and I do think he’s had a hard time opening up, but now he has to Cameron, so I think us fans should not only respect his decisions, but support them as well. Unlike many Britney fans, I love Cry Me A River and I love that Justin took something so painful from his life and made an incredible song out of it. That is art and that is something that surpases both Britney & Christina.
I hope Justin has a nice, long career and I just wanted to share with all of you why I’m such a huge Justin fan. Let the hating begin…
