Will Avril Lavigne Change Her Sound On Sophomore Album?

Entertainment Weekly caught up with Avril Lavigne and asked the singer if she planned on going a different musical direction than on her debut, most notably her breakout hit ‘Complicated’. “No, I was just writing songs that felt good,” she said. “‘Complicated’ came from me — and a couple of other people — writing that song, so it has my style in it. That’s my writing style — with a couple of other people’s writing style — but you’re gonna feel a tiny bit of that because it’s the same artist. I’m not gonna completely change myself. I’m just going for more, like, stuff that I feel more.”
