The New York Post reports ‘American Idol’ champ Kelly Clarkson will compete in ‘World Idol,’ a global pop-star singing competition in which the winners from 10 other versions of the talent show will battle for the ultimate ‘Idol’ championship. “When I dreamed up the idea of [the U.K.'s] ‘Pop Idol,’ I always saw it is a global concept, and so I’m delighted to see ‘World Idol’ being made in London,” creator and producer Simon Fuller said in a statement. “The last two years have been fantastic and it is incredibly satisfying to see a British TV idea being so successful on a global stage.” The new show will air in two parts. In first, airing in primetime the night of Christmas Day, singers will perform for 11 judges, one from each country that a version of the show airs in. The second part, the results show, will air on New Year’s Day.
