Jayne Flores of the Guam Pacific Daily News weighed in on how young girls are confusing smut with beauty after glancing at ‘Marine Drive’ magazine which featured a girl in a bikini with her hand on her crotch. “The effect of pop stars like Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears is evident in our shopping malls,” Flores said. “I’ve seen my daughter’s 9-year-old friend decked out like a 17-year-old. They now sell high-heeled shoes for first-graders. We shrug our shoulders at these “fashions for today’s prostitute” and wonder why our teen pregnancy rate is so high? Why so many girls and women are sexually harassed at school and in the workplace? I’m trying to raise three girls to realize that looking like a slut does not make you attractive or desirable. Pictures like this make it tougher.”
