Two decades after its launch on August 2, 1983, Z100 is as strong as ever, ranked in the New York City’s top five and perpetuating a brand name so powerful that today’s pop fans listen happily to their parents’ radio station. “It’s great that everyone knows this is where to go for the hits,” said program director Tom Poleman. “We’re an institution, like being Con Ed. But we still have to stay current and fresh.”
