Another Poor Sales Showing For Michael Jackson
The Sun reports that Michael Jackson’s new greatest hits album sold just 8,000 copies in its first week in the US, charting at #128. ‘The Essential Michael Jackson’ was even beaten by 70’s star Carly Simon’s new CD ‘Moonlight’, which sold 58,000 copies.
Jackson Vacation Over?
July 29, 2005 – Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com reports that papers were served this week on Michael Jackson’s three known remaining attorneys by a lawyer for Marc Schaffel, Jackson’s former partner. It’s another “greatest hits” package. He keeps putting out GH packages because his’, ‘new material doesn’t sell well in the U.S., but it probably sells well in Germany, where he is beloved still. This GH has sold well in Europe. This news bit is very insulting, saying that “even Carly Simon sold more.” Carly’s got a lot of fans and I’m happy her new cd did well.
I didn’t even know he released anything.
HA, HA, HA, HA, HA!!! I didn’t even know that he had one out!! What a dumbass!
Who knew an MJ album was even out, no press was done for it, but he has enough GH albums, he needs to do new material
Any of his remaining fans already have this stuff. He no longer gets airplay and hasn’t had a hit since the first child abuse scandal. Apart from a few diehard MJ fans, no one really cares if he put out new material. This sounds like Sony trying to eek out a few more dollars before repossessing his Beatles’ catalogue and releasing him.
