Backstreet Boys Are Bad Imitators

Bob Gendron of the Chicago Tribune reviewed the Backstreet Boys’ concert on August 19th at Northerly Island. Gendron writes, “Following a four-year layoff, the group is staging a comeback, having refashioned their tinsel-toned dance sound and become Def Leppard lite. Live, the sonic makeover turned out to be a mistake. Nothing about the Backstreet Boys’ cotton-candy music or uneven choreography rocked. Instead of spotlighting the quintet’s harmonizing capabilities, the hair-metal anthems and power ballads were often tailored for one singer and rendered the remaining members useless.” Read more.

It’s becoming almost comical now these reviewers are just silly. The Boys dancing was tight at their L.A show. Weird World is the only song in which just one boy sang solo and even then the others were doing back-up… what songs are he referring to in which the guys were just standing around while one sang. It really is amazing that one group can put so much fear into so many ppl…lol..just shows the power they have. BSB IS BACK

They couldn’t be more right. Everyone knows the boy band phase is so over and these pathetic middle aged queers are still trying to make it. How sad is it that 40 y/o men are doing choreographed dance moves? sad..

I wasn’t at the Chicago show, but I saw the Boys two days later, and it was NOTHING like this….it TOTALLY rocked!!! Just goes to show SOME people don’t know a good show when they see one! Critics will trash the Boys for ANYTHING, and it’s really quite sad!!

The show was really good, Nick jumped into the audience and almost got trampled it took a couple of seconds before the guards could get to him that was a stupid move. But they sounded great and their dancing was really tight. I really liked how they mixed the old songs in with the new stuff, and Siberia was the highlight, I love how they performed that particular song.Overall it was a really good show.

Isn’t that the truth. They get bashed if they don’t play instruments on stage. Nick plays the guitar a couple of times and he gets bashed for playing. One critic says that he was trying to be a rocker…lol come on the man was just playing a guitar he wasn’t trying to be anything or anyone but who he is. The critics are usually old men that really don’t like this kind of music so they really shouldn’t be reviewing BSB. Its like if I had to review a rap concert I wouldn’t have anything good to say about it. All of my review would be very subjective. Well the Boys must have some staying power they have made platinum and they hardly get any airplay. BSB IS BACK AND PPL ARE SCARED LOL

that’s a new one. being as how they do not attempt to ‘imitate’ anyone. guess the critic ran out of insults and had to come up with an ‘original’ outcry of pathetic.
