Billboard.com Underground – Gavin Mikhail

Billboard.com Underground caught up with Gavin Mikhail, where he talked about the independent release of his third album, the ‘Lay It Down, Mix It Up’ contest which he won thanks to his loyal MySpace fans, and the song ‘Brave’ – a track written about his wife.

“It was a time where I was trying to figure out where I was going and what I was doing,” Gavin said regarding the track ‘Brave’, which is about his wife. “A lot of what I was doing now wasn’t happening then with the fan base. So, I was really questioning staying in it. I was having a tough time with that and ‘Brave’ was a song with her saying to me I love what you do and I think you can keep doing it. It was one of those pivotal moments where I was really kind of ready to step away from music, and she kept me in it.”
