We have two very different artists. One whatever she touches goes gold (Britney Spears), and another who takes years to make a good album (Christina Aguilera). Britney is a international icon. Whatever you say, it is true. She has sold over 85 million albums and she has only been around for 8 years. Her singles do great and top many charts. On the another hand, you have Christina, who has sold 42 million albums and has 4 U.S number 1’s.
Britney is more successful in album sales and tours. Her ‘Dream Within In A Dream’ was highly successful and so was her ‘Onyx Hotel Tour’. Christina on the other hand is more likely to get a a top 10 hit. I’m not saying that Britney is not successful in singles (Look at how many hit singles she has). But fans make a over hype of everything. Christina’s new song is okay, but a top ten hit? Not likely. Us Britney fans also over hype everything she does, but we have reason. When Christina releases her new album, MAYBE Christina will achieve her first U.S Number #1 album. When Britney releases her new soon to be 5th #1 album later this year, maybe we will get our 2nd number #1 U.S Single because now downloads count and her downloads are STRONG!!!

Christina Aguilera’s debut album hit # 1…
Christina has sold 42 million with only 3 albums Britney has sold 83 with 6 so Christina is in a way more successful she is much bigger out of the US and she has 6 no1’s Britney has more singles with only 2 more no1’s than Christina. Britney’s last tour raised $50 million fully completed Christina’s sold $185 million and was cut short. Britney’s been around for 11 years Christina nearly 10. I don’t hate Britney but get your fact right is your going to publish a story on the net .;)

@Meghan: WOW. First of all, Christina has 4 number ones, Britney has EIGHT. Christina sold 42 million with SIX albums (3 studio + 3 other stuff). Britney sold 85 with eight albums (6 studio + 2 other stuff). Britney’s Onyx tour was 55 shows, while Christina was 85 shows and it grossed 90 million honey, not 185. And they have been around for the same time
Lol Britney clearly is the bigger star out of the two. I love Britney & Christina but let’s be serious… did y’all not see Billboard.com’s DECADE END LIST and see the album sellers decade end list? Britney is clearly sitting pretty at #2 for the DECADE(#1 female) and Christina is at #24. Either way they both did fantastic… Britney has out sold her, and her tours do better, that’s that. Christina has more #1’s in America.. but Britney has more #1’s World Wide, The World > 1 Country.
Another thing, Christina Aguilera has sold around 42-50 million RECORDS, not to be confused with ALBUMS. Christina Has Sold Around 34 million albums to Britney’s 87.
