Britney Spears Getting No Airplay On Radio Again?

I called my local radio station, Hot 99.5 here in Washington D.C. and I asked if they had the new Britney Spears single, ‘Me Against The Music’ and they said that they had it but they aren’t going to play it yet. She also said that she guesses that she won’t even play Britney all that much since people are “slamming” Britney, as she put it. She says that the song is great (she heard it cause I asked) and that is has a great dance feel that most people would like. she said she was DYING to play it but the music director won’t allow her. But she said she would try to get the guy to let her play it tonight for me. Also, this station is part of Clear Channel Stations so maybe that has to do with something since Britney had a bad relationship with them with her 3rd album. Also, I asked if the single featured Madonna on it, and she said no.

Radio stations really suck these days, all they do is talk sh** about artists they don’t even focus on the music anymore. I haven’t heard Britney’s new song yet, but it’s probably decent, but unless radio gets paid they won’t play certain artist’s songs.
That’s what happens when Clear Channel doesn’t like you. Most stations refuse to play Mariah Carey stuff too. It sucks especially when the song is an excellent song. I hope they at least give her song a chance.
The song is not allowed to be played till next week…..It will first premiere on Aol on October 6th then it will start playing on radios…Jive record told all the directors not to play the song till next week..so radio stations aren’t allowed to play till next week.
Hey I just heard that the new single will get official airplay on the 7th of October which is kinda cool because my birthday is on the 7th so yeah!!! CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRITNEY RULES!
I know that radio station, I used to intern there. the DJs there are all idiots. Hot 99.5 replaced Z104 because all Z104 played was Nsync and everyone was sick of it. so then Hot 99.5 took over and offered something fresh. now all they play is Justin Timberlake. soon, they’ll be replaced too. Chocolate City is not interested in the mickey mouse club. play some real music. anyway, that station probably will play Britney. it’s not up to the individual DJs. so her saying she won’t play Britney just because people are talking about her means nothing. if METM is played on Z100, then it’ll be played on Hot 99.5, regardless of what the retarded DJs at 99.5 think.
MATM also, Clearchannel controls everything. so that individual DJ has no say whatsoever
I used to intern at KISS-FM in Dallas. Clear Channel owns that station too. The CEO of Clear Channel is good friends with Tommy Mottola, so go figure. That’s pathetic, and it’s unfortunate for Mariah because some of her songs really deserve to be played. The only stations that add her singles are the ones that aren’t owned by Clear Channel. That company has got a serious monopoly on American media.
How can anyone say the song sucks-no one has heard it yet, the NFL song was not the final product with Madonna-there is no way that anyone will deny the song is hot when you hear it-even you haters why are people so critical-its called entertainment and its meant to be fun
Yeah I heard that the guy that owns Clear Channel is very good friends with Tommy Mottola. It is really sad that someone can do that and change an artists career. Not just an artist but an icon.
I called the radio station in ATL and was also told it was a great song by the DJ, said it had a great beat and sound.. he said it WILL be played but it hasn’t been released to be played yet.. also said that they have the single and it is loaded and ready to be played when they get the o.k. I also called other radio stations in in Ga and they said the same thing and every DJ I talked to said its a great song and they can’t wait to play it. AOL has it first on Oct.6 for 24 hrs after that it will be released.
