Britney Spears: I’m Proud Of Jessica Simpson

World Entertainment News Network reports that Britney Spears is not jealous or upset that pop rival landed the role of Daisy Duke in the big-screen remake of ‘The Dukes Of Hazzard’. “Yeah (I was offered the role). Ashton Kutcher was supposed to be in it too,” Spears said. “But things change and happen for a reason. That wasn’t my time. I’m supposed to be pregnant now. And I’m proud of Jessica – she’s doing really well.”

Um, when were they ever rivals? And how is this relevant? This is obviously old. That role was given a long time ago, and the movie isn’t even in theatres anymore, and c’mon, it’s just Daisy Duke for pete’s sake, not some Oscar worthy character role. I don’t get why the casting of that character was made into such a big deal.

I would have to see or hear specific PROOF that they offered her the role. I smell BS! The only reason she would have fit the role is she’s a dumb blond Southern hick. Britney in NO WAY has the legs or ass to play that role.

She was offered! The said on Simpsons True Hollywood story. At least she didn’t diss her like that stupid wh0re Jessica.

  4. SkItTleZzZ_n_DeLiLah says:

whatever. she’d have just made herself look more stupid if she had landed the role. and you know how badly she’s been wanting people to take her seriously. heh. it’s perfect for Jessica because she’s proud of her stupidity.

why does it matter? it’s just Daisy Duke lol’, ‘And how much leg and ass must she have had for that role? Daisy Duke was good looking and all, but it’s nothing to make such a big deal about. All an actress needs to play that role is an ass big enough to fit into those short shorts, and they aren’t that big lol.

  6. fandango says:

I know, but after seeing Britney Spears in jean shorts–LOL–>’, ‘that she wore for 4 months in a row (those shorts can walk on their own at this point), it was obvious she just looks like an Alabama beach skank – NOT a hot Southern chick. If it’s not important, then why did BS have to emphasize that she was made an offer? I think they offered her $1000.

  7. jazzprofounder says:

and I doubt she was trying to prove her seriousness in Daisy Duke lol’, ‘If she played in a movie where it required real acting, sure, but in Duke of Hazzards, nah. I think the whole movie in general was a mess, it was such a pointless and random remake of a series that didn’t need to be remade.

  8. fandango says:

I could see them offering her $1000 to do it – just to sell the outtakes and switch to a REAL Daisy Duke. It wasn’t her time? Uhhh…Britney – it was your unappealing body & face (gymnast neck) that lost it for you….but your rep as a dumb southern female hick – you NAILED it in Chaotic.

  9. jazzprofounder says:

It was obviously important to her if she emphasized it, since it’s kind of apparent that she wants to do more acting. Playing in Daisy Duke probably wouldn’t have made a big advancement on her acting abilities, but it would have got her lots of hype for it just like it has done for Jessica.

Why do you say it like that though? “just Daisy Duke”‘, ‘not everyone wants to do meaty gritty oscar-worthy roles all the time, and even those who do tend to do that, like to play a fun character too every now and then, I bet playing Daisy was alot of fun, and maybe Jess was thinking that too. Roles like the one Charlize Theron played in “Monster”, or like the one Halle Berry played in “Monster’s Ball” aren’t for everyone, and Jess’ Daisy has helped “Dukes” pull in over 80 million at the box-office in just 3.5 weeks, and make it the 5th biggest debut movie by a popstar in History, all in all I’d say not bad.
