Britney Spears Isn’t Anti-Britney

Colleen Maree Quill of spoke with and asked the singer about the new crop of singers being labelled as anti-Britney’s, and whether with her new album ‘In The Zone’, she’s become sort of an anti-Britney herself. “Well that was a very deep question. No. I think that I’m always going to be me, but like I think every day we change and express ourselves in different ways,” she said. “So I’m not anti-Britney at all. I totally love everything that I’ve every done, you know. It’s not an egotistical thing but that was me at that moment in that time, and that’s what I believed in. So I definitely don’t regret the things that I did in the past.”

“And as far as, you know, Avril Lavigne’s and all of those girls like that, they all have their game and what they do. But at the end of the day we’re all one. We’re all the same. And, you know, when I see Avril Lavigne on TV or Gwen Stefani or Christina Aguilera, I take pieces from them but, you know, I don’t copy their music, but like I see emotions in their music that I’m like that inspires me. And instead of, you know, girls being like anti this or anti that, we should like just be around to support each other and to inspire each other at the end of the day. And just, you know, lift each other up, instead of being, you know, kind of, you know, competitive and anti this and anti that. That’s kind of shallow to me.”

yeah….ok Britney thinks Avril and Christina are shallow while Avril and Christina are convinced she’s the shallow one in this game. I think this is just a matter of very different personalities, and you can’t say that one is more ‘real’ then the other. I love both Avril,Christina and Britney and I certainly see how any of them are shallow. they are just expressing themselves which everyone’s entitled to. more power to them!

  2. blah says:

I don’t thinks she was saying they are shallow, just in general it is shallow to diss someone who works just as hard as you. It is one thing to say “I dislike pop music”, but another thing to say “I am an artist and she is superficial”… yes she is expressing herself, but is it necessary? Just like if I dislike someone I work with. Yeah if I go around saying “she is a bitch” I am expressing myself, but is it necessary? I am not saying you are wrong BTW, just maybe showing you a different way to look at the statement. =)

can she be more of a doorknob? I guess she doesn’t know what a complete sentence is……. and as for her answer to the most dumbest question, she makes herself seem so predictable. Britney….what they said is THEIR opinion. so shut up and take it like a bitch or take back all that Bullsh** you just said and stop putting up the sweet and innocent show.

  4. hotstuff says:

Britney’s always been a sweet girl in interviews. she can grow as an artist w/o changing who she is (personality, attitude) unlike some people… just because Christina is acting like a complete bitch, well maybe that’s just who she is. ever thought of that?

“And instead of, you know, girls being like anti this or anti that, we should like just be around to support each other and to inspire each other at the end of the day.” This girl is so awesome. How classy and mature is that? I love her, and she is so right.

Speaking of dumb, learn some grammar why don’t ya? “and as for her answer to the MOST DUMBEST question, she makes herself seem so predictable.” Now really, does “most dumbest” make any sense? You sound like a 5-year-old kid. You could have just said “dumbest” or hell, you could have said “most dumb”. Looks like Britney’s not the only one coming off a bit stupid, huh?

  7. breez says:

Britney should not put herself in the same category as Gwen Stefani or Christina Aguilera. Sure they’re all female singers – and that’s where the similarity ends. Unlike Britney, Gwen and Christina are artists.

  8. babet says:

The way Britney acts in interviews is so fake compared to the way she really acts. she sings about sex and screwing guys and masturbating…..but when it comes to talking about the subject she clams up and never answers questions directly. she says what people wanna hear………ie: “oh sex is such a spiritual thing…blah blah….true love….blah blah” or “people can say what they wanna say you just need your family, love, and all the support of people around u…blah blah blah.” tell me this….if someone disses you in public….would you react the way Britney did? she’s to scared to lash out at anyone because she doesn’t wanna seem like a bitch! its like she’s got no mind of her own. she talks like a broken record. everything she says is like something you would hear in an after school special with those cheesy morals in the end.

  9. rachel says:

Yeah that bitch shouldn’t insult Christina and Gwen by placing her name next to theirs. Advil she can do whatever she wants because they are both fake whores. Actually Britney is the whore, Advil is just fake but it seems to me she has some morals.

“…Christina Aguilera, I take pieces from them but, you know, I don’t copy their music…” of course she doesn’t copy their music. she can’t with her limited vocal talent. but she does indeed copy their fashion. corsets, fishnets, streaked hair. cat suit pants attached to boots. come on Britney… Christina has worked hard for it to be a fashion and original statement for herself…and you go off and copy it. yes, I know, corsets and etc have been around forever. but Christina has surely brought it back. why wait until Christina makes it a statement. well that’s Britney…following footsteps of greater, more talented, artists.
