Curtis Mayfield’s Son Hints At Plagiarism Suit Against John Mayer

Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com reports Kirk Mayfield, the son of late R&B great Curtis Mayfield, wants put on notice publicly. The singer’s latest single, ‘Waiting on the World to Change’, Mayfield believes, is uncomfortably close sounding to his father’s classic, ‘We’re a Winner’.

Pulls Prank On Sheryl Crow

October 12, 2006 – checked in with fans on his official web site’s blog on Wednesday (October 11), after pulling a prank on tourmate Sheryl Crow. “The nearly done-to-death bear suit gag had at least one more go-round left in it, so when Ms. Crow called me up to play on ‘My Favorite Mistake’ as she had done so many times before, she was forced to sing while taking it all in,” Mayer writes, “that not only was she about to forget the words to half of the second verse, but the gaggle of press photographers allowed to shoot the first three songs of her set were snapping away at our every move.” Mayer has since removed his blog posting.
