Fans Ask Why Jessica Simpson Hasn’t Posted

A popular question making the rounds on the official Jessica Simpson message board is, Why isn’t Jessica posting? In the past Simpson has repeatedly declared “I love to go on my website”. Since the release of the controversial Maxim photo shoot video diary earlier in November Simpson has been conspicuously absent.

Message board moderators suggest that Simpson-s inattentiveness is in part a punitive measure. Her busy schedule and her latest album which is rumored to be in the works were also offered as reasons for the noticeably prolonged absence. However, some fans are confident that once it is time for the album-s release and for the newest video premier, Simpson will once again return to her site and ask for her true fans support in the form of CD purchases and votes.

considering he hasn’t posted in a really long time … i would not hold my breath. have you noticed they have become more and more distant. i guess they don’t have the time any more and just phased us out little by little

If you were a “star” and people were just flat out arguing with your mods, in public, showing them no respect and continuing to do this over at least a 2 week period, would you want to post

To imply that Jessica isn’t posting as some sort of punishment to her fans is unfair to the fans who expressed their concerns respectfully and to Jessica herself- do you think she is so vain that she only wants to read shining praise about herself?

Maybe if Jessica had actually posted on her sites as much as she says she does in interviews and had given her fans some notice and some reasoning behind her new image decisions a lot of the arguing could have been avoided.

i honestly do not think that Jessica/Joe “cares” whether people like the moderators. I mean it just seems so trivial compared to other things on her mind.

and i honestly do believe that they have moved themselves further and further away from “the fans” and i am standing by that. Tina once told my friend that joe was gonna start spending more time with Ashlee working on her career … so it makes sense if he doesn’t come to the Jess board

It started with FHM (For HIM Magazine). Jessica said she stood strong in her religious values and morals and openly criticized other pop stars for being immodestly dressed and then posed provocatively in next to nothing for this sexually oriented men’s magazine. Which by the way used the Lord’s name in vain in the title of her article. When the pictures first appeared some fans were shocked to see Jessica doing the exact opposite of what she said she believed.

She also condemned the fans and never apologized to the other stars she criticized, which only made things worse. It’s all coming up again because Maxim is about to come out, and it’s probably all going to start up again.

This is from Jessica’s 10/02/00 diary entry:

” Ironically, i got out of christian music because i felt judged about my character based on what i wore and now I am in the secular world standing for that which is good and still being judged on my clothing by the same judgmental Christians. So i guess there is no escaping the judgement of some! One thing i have learned in these short 20 years of my life, is that the ones who judge the hardest are usually the ones with secret personal issues.”

No one liked being accused of harboring “secret issues” because we thought it was hypocritical of Jessica to condemn Britney Spears and Cristina Aguilera and Mariah and all the rest publicly in her interviews for “showing too much skin” when she would do a photo spread like this.

I love Jess and I’ve been a fan since the beginning but I wish she’d just drop this whole sexy image thing and just be herself. I hate the mens magazines photo shoots. But I think that’s all right. It’s ok to not agree with everything Jessica does. I’m not any less of a fan then anyone else just because I might not back all of Jessica’s decisions

I agree that people shouldn’t come here for the sole purpose of bashing Jessica or anybody but if someone disagrees with a choice Jessica is making if they dont get vulgar or malicious I think they should be able to say what they think. Jessica has said in the past that she likes to read what her fans opinions are and she didn’t say just the positive ones.

Not everyone will like those decisions but if Jessica is really “a big girl” she understands that and should be prepared to deal with the good and the not so good critiques.

I am a Jessica Fan but I didn’t agree either with the new image Jessica went with. There isn’t a Jessica fan out there that can’t say that she went against everything she said she didn’t want to be. She said she didn’t feel the need to show off her stomach or wear skimpy clothes. She wanted her music to speak for itself. Then all the sudden she is wearing half shirts, posing for a mens magazine in skimpy outfits. I was very CONFUSED because I thought she didn’t want to dress or be like that. I still don’t understand it but I do like her music and think she is a very sweet girl. I might not ever understand why she changed but I do still like her.

I’d like to point out that much of the controversy seems to be Jessica’s decision to pose in men’s magazines. While it doesn’t bother me, there are some fans who it does bother.

Good marketing is about good PR. Having Jessica’s people refuse to talk to the fans, or to have their comments censored from the board is a good way to annoy them
