Farber Mocks Aguilera And Lavigne Grammy Nominations

Jim Farber of the New York Daily News weighed in on the Grammy nominations, claiming the awards “have finally caught up with the age of two-way pagers and baggy pants.” Apparently on the down side though, were a pair of pop nominations. He writes, “Christina Aguilera’s icky ‘Beautiful,’ nominated for Song of the Year, conforms to the Grammy’s old taste for corn.” He then asked, “And did voters really mean to put up the fluffy ‘I’m With You’ by and the Matrix in the important Best Song slot?” Read more.

So true….she probably won’t win anyhow. So much for the media loving Christina and taking her so much more seriously than Britney. Most people in the media consider her a skank who turned from teen pop to looking like reject prostitute from a Mad Max movie. But her sad fans are still convinced the media loves her, to make up for the fact that her fan base is smaller that Brits. I guess I can let them have their sad delusion since they got nothing else.

Linda Perry (formally of 4-Non Blondes) wrote and produced the song “Beautiful”. Perry actually wanted to use the song as her “comeback” song. Christina just sings it-maybe he should criticize Perry if he thought the song was sappy. Farber is an old hack writer who loves to criticize everything. Maybe he should try to write and/or sing a song and have someone criticize him.

Hotstar I bet you she will win more than one!!! Admit it….she is that good ok…now in the meantime just keep praying because come FEB when she wins up to three of the 5 awards I want to see what crap you will be talking next. hahahaha….Xtina rules!

BOO HOO! Britney Spears fans crying like babies again because Christina will most likely win another Grammy! on the other hand, their lip-synching idol is still dreaming of getting AT LEAST one!

  5. rachel says:

Actually Britney fans cry again cause the chick is going to win. As Justina will say “Cry me a River”. Good that this guy hates Christina and think the song is corny, it will be more hurtful when she wins again. And be 4 + time Grammy winner.

Christina deserves to win, her CD was great. I’m with you, was the only song I liked off Avril’s whole CD.

I really don’t care if Christina wins or not at the upcoming Grammy awards but I know she deserves some recognition. ‘stripped’ is a masterpiece like Jagged little pill and Ray of light. In my opinion her 3 Grammys satisfy me and as long as people recognized her for being a Grammy Award Winning artist. ‘ladies and gentlemen, the 3 time Grammy Award winning artist… Christina Aguilera’ oh… I love that line every time I hear it.

LMAO Britney fans, before you say ANYTHING here, bite your tongue and realize Britney will never got nominated, and NEVER win a Grammy. she will be lucky if she HAS some critic saying he doesn’t like her GRAMMY-WORTHY song. Beautiful was a worldwide, genre transcending ANTHEM. it will win, and everyone knows it deserves to.

  9. JMAX says:

jimmypee: Bite your tongue. Britney has been nominated numerous times over the years. She was not nominated this year because the deadline is in September, and Britney didn’t release anything by then. But she will be eligible next year.

Britney holds 3 world records. Does Xtina? Britney has a star on the walk of fame. Does Xtina? (I know you’re going to tell me a star is bought and blah blah blah. But then I’ll have to remind you that they don’t give one to just anybody who is nominated and has the money to pay for it. You still have to be worthy of it.) The Grammys are Xtina’s only honor. And that honor has also been given to Milli Vanilli. Besides, there are many other credible award shows out there (AMAs, Billboard, etc). Maybe we should compare how many of those awards she has won.

What’s he thinking? Beautiful is a ‘Beautiful’ song and I’m With You is just such a deep, amazing song. Both songs are great, but that’s just my opinion ;)
