Hilary Duff Set Remains ‘Most Wanted’ At No. 1

’s latest release, the greatest hits compilation album ‘Most Wanted’, remains atop The Billboard 200 for a second week. Though the CD suffered a 51% second week decline to U.S. sales with 101,000 copies sold, it was enough to beat ‘NOW! That’s What I Call Music 19’, which cleared 96,000 units, and ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’ by Mariah Carey, which placed third with 89,000 units.

I still don’t understand why this is a “greatest hits” album. Half of the songs on it are just remixes, and many of them weren’t really “hits.” But anyway, good for hillary that it’s doing so well.

that’s cuz ‘now 19’ doesn’t have any songs by benji or Joel on it. now 16 and 17 anyone?

Give her credit’, ‘Hilary is making a smart business decision with releases a “sorta greatest hits” so soon in her career. She is smart. She knows she is NOT a long lasting music legend, etc….therefore she is preparing herself to leave the music biz and do more movies probably. She has never really had a radio hit, nor even cross the 10 million mark in combined sales for her music. I say go out on top instead of releasing cd after cd and only sell 300,000 max. She has made a very wise decision to prepare herself to depart music. Best of luck to Hil.

There was a story here not long ago about Hilary switching labels (to Casablanca with Lindsay – won’t that be fun?). This is obviously a business move on her part. By releasing a so-called “Greatest Hits” now, she prevents her current label from releasing it when her next real album comes out and diluting the market for her future releases. There seems to be an agreed upon silence – Hilary doesn’t admit she’s releasing an inferior product to her fans to preserve her future earnings and her label doesn’t admit they are getting f*cked over bigtime by a 17 year old girl.

but it has been just 2 years, don’t you think that’s a bit too soon?’, ‘Not even the most famous artists released a GH’s CD after just 2 years. Not saying that she doesn’t deserve credit for anything she has done, but it just seems a bit silly to call it a “greatest hits” CD when it’s really not.

Everytime I hear about the Hilary Duff “Most Wanted” Hits album it makes me gringe. I can’t believe she decided to do this, it seems like a cheap way just to earn a little bit more cash for her. As much as I’ve attempted to like her, I just can’t do it, to me her voice sounds like someone is slamming a bag of cats against a wall over and over again. At least you can tell that Lindsay Lohab does have some credibility after working with a vocal coach and she has a couple slashes in her name that give her credit for writing music. It just makes me sad that the music industry has even come to this… not that Lindsay is some music prodig either but please… bring back real music.

  7. crazygirl22 says:

didn’t she say it was a collection of her fave songs?

  8. ssl291 says:

nowhere on the album does it say that it is a greatest hits’, ‘It is simply a compilation of her favorite song. Song that are part of her tour

and about 300k people showed that by being her last cd.’, ‘Way to show they that they want her to stop.
