‘Pop Idol’ runner-up Mark Rhodes will seek solace with secret girlfriend Helen Shaw, who helped him cope with his parents’ bitter divorce, The People can reveal.

Helen warned off the legions of girl fans that follow Mark everywhere by declaring: “I’m the one he’s going to wed. I love him to bits and know him better than the millions who only see him on TV.” The 22-year-old, who still lives in Mark’s home town of Bilston near Wolverhampton, added: “It’s been really hard to be apart. We have only really spent two weeks away from each other in the last six years. I know he’ll probably move to London to pursue his career but I’ll follow him.”
