Jessica Simpson Sued For ‘Dessert’

A California-based cosmetics company has filed suit against Jessica Simpson, alleging that Simpson, her cosmetic company Dessert Beauty Inc. and cosmetic retailing giant Sephora owe nearly $200,000 for products manufactured and sold to Dessert.

November 9, 2004 – Tabby Soignier of the LSU Reveille ran into in Baton Rouge at a local Wal-Mart. Simpson was with her buddy/personal assistant Casey, and wasn’t keen on doing an interview since she was just shopping. Simpson told Soignier: “Oh, well I’m really busy buying stuff for the house here.” Asked if she was moving to the area, Jessica responded, “Yeah, to shoot the ‘Dukes of Hazard’.” After that, Casey nixed any further questions.

Megabucks For Clothing Line Deal

November 4, 2004 – New York-based manufacturing firm Andrew Sports Club announced a reported $10 million licensing deal with Jessica Simpson, The New York Daily News reports. Under JS Brand Management, Sports Club CEO Andrew Kirpalani says his company will develop, market and distribute a junior sportswear line, kids’ clothes, dresses, hats, watches, jewelry and undies under the Jessica Simpson and Sweet Kisses brand names.

November 2, 2004 – Jay Leno joked during his Tonight Show monologue on Monday night, “At a press conference, Jessica Simpson defended her sister’s lip-synching blunder. She didn’t see the show, because she didn’t know what day it was on.”

    $200,000? That’s all? She’ll most likely pay it off and have the case dropped. Even Kevin Fed’s broke ass can afford it.
