Josh Hoge 40 Days Sober After Seeking Alcohol Addiction Treatment

checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace (@joshhoge) on Tuesday (August 10), discussing work on his new album, trying to line up some tour dates, and a revelation that he had been getting treatment for alcoholism last month and has been 40 days sober. The singer songwriter tells readers:

I rarely go into much detail about things that go on with myself or my family personally, but after giving it some (a lot) of thought, I wanted to share…

As most of you know (and have probably witnessed) I enjoy the alcohol. It was something that started as a social thing for me, but as the years went on I realized I was REALLY social I guess. Point being, over the last year of my life I began to struggle with an alcohol addiction. It grew and grew through the beginning of this year, and I was beginning to lose myself in it (amongst many other things). On July 2nd I had a long talk with my family, and I decided the problem was bigger than me and I wanted to get some help. So I spent most of July in a treatment facility getting myself back in order. It’s the best decision I have ever made! As I type this today, it is my 40th day sober, and I feel better than I have in a LONG time. I have a new appreciation honestly for everything, especially music. I’m hoping with this new record, tours, etc to be better than I have ever been!!!
