Madonna talks to Scene Junkie about making her new album ‘Hard Candy’, having to wait to find open schedule space to get Timbaland, Pharrell and Justin Timberlake to assist her on the disc. The Material Girl said in choosing to work with the three artists, she asked what music she’s excited about right now, and it was that trio. “Actually, Justin and Timbaland approached me,” Madonna explained. “And I think Pharrell did as well. I think at first they were saying we would love to do just one song with you kind of thing. And I thought, well, why do just one song. Let’s do the whole record together.” The brief interview at MySpace has since been removed.
Lindsay Clydesdale: Madonna Has Diluted Her Image
May 6, 2008 – Lindsay Clydesdale of the Glasgow Daily Record is weighing in on the latest of Madonna’s many image makeovers, calling the 49-year-old’s latest attempt to to reinvent herself by teaming up with younger star Justin Timberlake “cringe-worthy” leaving many fans with “bile in throats.” Clydesdale writes, “Madonna has diluted her image to the point where her life seems to be style over substance. Her reputation is a mess of conflicting messages – get your boobs out for the boys, dress chastely for the kids, save the planet, smash the system, blame religion, use religion. I don’t know if even she knows what she stands for any more.” The full story at dailyrecord.co.uk has since been removed.
