Madonna Rejects Acting Role For Daughter Lourdes
Star magazine reports that Madonna said no to an offer to have her 11-year-old daughter Lourdes star in the upcoming dramedy ‘The Secret Life of Bees’. “Madonna didn’t work ’til after high school, and she wants it to be the same way for Lourdes,” a source told the tabloid. “She doesn’t want her to enter that harsh world.” But the source added that Lourdes is lobbying with her 50-year-old mother to begin acting when she turns 14 in October 2010.

September 8, 2008 – Katy Perry and boyfriend Travis McCoy spoke with MTV News backstage at the Video Music Awards last night, following Katy’s performance of the Madonna classic ‘Like A Virgin’, where she was joined by +44 drummer Travis Barker and DJ AM. After MTV’s Tamar Anitai shockingly asked if her performance was better than “that old bag” Madonna, Perry responded, “Nobody tops Madge.”
Katy Perry Rehearsing ‘Like A Virgin’ For VMAs
September 6, 2008 – Katy Perry is set to perform a cover of the Madonna classic ‘Like A Virgin’, joined by Travis Barker and DJ AM, at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night. Footage of the three rehearsing the song, as Katy read the lyrics off a Sidekick, has been posted online. Tamar Anitai of MTV Buzzworthy, who watched the rehearsal, writes, “The bottom line here is that DJ AM, Travis and Katy are taking Madonna’s classic and updating it with such a perfectly of-the-now sound that it just might give the mother of reinvention a reason to hurl a phone into a wall.” The rehearsal at MTV.com has since been removed.
