The New York Daily News reports that for Madonna’s forthcoming world tour, the singer will descend to the stage on a glittering $10 million ball covered with diamonds and Swarovski crystals. “It’ll create a blinding light,” a source revealed. “Like she’s landing on the spaceship from ‘E.T.'” The ball is being constructed in a well-guarded airplane hangar in Los Angeles.

April 14, 2006 – Jennifer Lopez’s style is an inspiration to many people, but she admitted to Harper’s Bazaar magazine for their May issue that she admires two trendsetters. “Madonna, for obvious reasons,” Lopez said. “She’s reincarnated herself so many times.” The other is No Doubt signer Gwen Stefani, whom Jennifer says has “carved out such a distinct style.”

April 13, 2006 – The Daily Star reports that Guy Ritchie is planning a month long vacation with actor Jason Stratham, fueling speculation that his marriage to Madonna is in trouble. “Guy is planning to jet off to Chicago with Jason to take out some quality time and discuss future film commitments,” a source said. “They want a real boy’s time of it and will go all out to make sure they have an action-packed holiday.”

April 13, 2006 – David Bianculli of The New York Daily News previewed BBC America’s ‘Madonna: Live’, airing Saturday at 10 PM. The feature is actually just Madonna’s appearance on the long-running British talk show ‘Parkinson’. Bianculli writes, “This program, which opens and closes with Madonna performing a song from her new CD, may be less impressive, and well-received, on this side of the Atlantic. But that’s part of its appeal in this case: seeing and hearing Madonna when she doesn’t necessarily think we’ll be watching or listening.”
