NOW they are going to show the Live 8 performances uninterrupted? They should have showed the performances uninterrupted and commercial free when it was actually LIVE. They pretty much ruined this whole event for me by having so many damn commercials and talking soo much. This should have been commercial-free and uninterrupted from the start, there was no need for so many commercials and them always interrupting in the middle of the performances.

I was at the London concert, but I Tivo’d the MTV event, and I was upset at how much’, ‘airtime Sway and all the others got in comparison to the artists.

I don’t know why people are surprised that MTV f*cked up bigtime. They haven’t been in the music business for years. These days they are little more than a reality tv show network.

i love how good charlotte was thrown in there like bad news. more hilary/gc stories instead please! they get talked about nice in them at least.

f**ked up how??’, ‘i was shopping in philadelphia at the time, right next to the concert. but i didn’t want to see the sh***ty acts we had. i thought destiny’s child broke up, and they were there. i’d rather have been in japan. but i wasn’t, so i taped the entire thing on an 8 hour tape for gc’s performance. i still didn’t watch it either. so how’d they f**k up?

and you are right Jlover, for an event like this all —>’, ‘They needed to do was shut their trap and maybe make a brief message after the performances, not during. At times i felt like i saw more of Sway and those other people than the actual artists that performed. It was really ridiculous and very unfair and selfish of them to sacrifice our enjoyment of the performances live so they can interrupt and talk as much as they please.

Ihatehillary, if you paid attention to entertainment news or something you would know that Destiny Child said that they are seperating AFTER their tour. So yeah, there tour isn’t over yet, so for now they’re still together. And MTV *****ed up because they kept interrupting during the performances and had so many commercials. It should have been a commercial free event, and there didn’t necessarily need to be so many interruptions. If you didn’t like the performances, fine, but many people liked the performances and didn’t appreciate the fact that MTV had to selfishly air so many commercials and give more airtime to their VJ’s.

THEY DID SHOW WHAT SEEMED TO BE AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF COMMERCIALS WHAT WAS THAT’, ‘ABOUT? I agree that should have been a commercial free event or at the least maybe one or two commercials per hour not every 5 minutes.

  7. jazzprofounder says:

yeah i know, they showed more commercials than they usually did! I felt cheated lol. I know that this whole concert was about awareness, but damn was it necessary for the VJ’s to interrupt DURING the performance and to have commercials every 5 mins. Not only that but the commercials were way too long, the only commercial they needed was one to talk about the AIDS epidemic for ONE minute and then get back to the show.

wtf are you getting so b.itchy for? i only asked a question. if YOU paid attention YOU would have seen that i said i didn’t get to see it, so i don’t know what happened. and sorry, i don’t keep up on “pop culture” because i have a life and a mind of my own. i like the bands i like, not the ones that are force fed down my throat. besides, destiny’s child isn’t even on popdirt. they’re probably on r&b dirt or something.
