Nick Lachey Has Written 30 Songs For Solo Debut

TRL reported Tuesday that 98 Degrees star Nick Lachey’s solo album is going full steam ahead. Nick has already writing 30 songs and says it will have a bit of a George Michael vibe to it. Including is a title called ‘Out of Time’ which was co-written by Richard Marx as well as ‘Edge of Eternity’, based on his upcoming marriage to Jessica Simpson. Meantime his brother Drew Lachey is acting and Justin Jeffre is managing a goth rock band. 98 Degrees should be back with another group album in a couple years. Nick and Jessica preparing for their big wedding day in October.

98 Degrees Nick Lachey Working On First Solo Album

July 10, 2002 – Suchin Pak of MTV News reported on MTV’s Total Request Live on Wednesday while 98 Degrees is taking a break before recording their next album, Nick Lachey is working on his first solo record. But don’t worry, he insists the group is not breaking up. He worked with several producers in England and Los Angeles including Linda Perry who recently helped Pink out on her latest record, everywhere these days.

While the project is still in the beginning stages he hopes to do a duet, maybe collaborations, but he knows this one will be a lot more rock than pop. “Yeah, it’s going to be a little more, where 98 Degrees was an more in a guitar-driven area. Different but not so crazy people are shocked by it, trying to evolve, do something new.” His solo record is expected out early next year.

September 11 Convinced Nick And Jess To Marry

July 6, 2002 – Star magazine spoke with Jessica Simpson and 98 Degrees star Nick Lachey on how the events of September 11 brought the couple back together and convinced them that they should get married. Jessica said, “The horrific events of 9/11 put my life in perspective and made me realize who is important to me – and that is Nick.” For his part, Nick said, “[9/11] freaked her out. It made us both realize how we felt for each other.” He added, “I can’t wait to say ‘I Do.'”

Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey Breakup A Publicity Stunt

May 14, 2002 – The New York Post reports an item that many on this site have been making speculations about from the start – that last year’s split between Jessica Simpson and her 98 Degrees fiance Nick Lachey was a hoax designed to get some publicity for their careers. The couple got back together supposedly after 9.11 but insiders laugh, “It was all a publicity stunt. They wanted some attention on their careers and so they broke up. Unfortunately, no one really cared, so they got back together.”
