Eddie McIlwaine of the Belfast Telegraph chatted with Westlife star Nicky Byrne on how getting let go from the Leeds United squad, where he had hoped to become a soccer star, may have been the best thing that ever happened to him. “My job was to clean and wax [football star Gary Kelly’s] boots after training,” revealed Nicky. “There was a lot to talk about when we were reunited in Dublin at the bash for the Ireland team in Phoenix Park.”
