Nikki Yanofsky spoke with the Vancouver Sun about mixing musical genres on her debut album ‘Nikki’. “I want the jazz listeners to listen to pop, and the pop listeners to listen to jazz,” the 16-year-old said. “I think if I choose just one genre, I’m kind of shooting myself in the foot. There’s so much great music out there, and if you pigeonhole yourself into just one [genre], you’ll be missing out on everything else. I love jazz and I will always sing jazz, but I can’t abandon pop and R&B, so I just intend to sing everything.”
