Ry Cuming Works On Debut Album At Village Studios
Ry Cuming checked in from Village Studios in Los Angeles to talk about progress on his full-length debut album, its influences, pushing his experiences and travel together into his writing, his Australian upbringing, and the experience of living in LA.
“It’s been a really amazing experience, being here at the studio and being able to work on these songs which I’ve been writing over the past couple of years,” Cuming said. “It’s the first time they’ve been able to come out to their full potential. This album really spans a lot of things. I had a lot of influences from the ’70s, a lot of singer songwriters, kind of rock n roll stuff of the ’60s and ’70s, Motown too. Half of the record is gonna be back to Jeff Buckley kind of ballads, and then there’s some real rock n’ roll tracks on here that feel really new and contemporary. A combination of all these different things which have influenced me my whole life.”
Ry’s 4 song EP ‘Roxy’ is out now. Watch the update via YouTube below.
