Kristinia DeBarge checked in with her Twitter followers (@Kristinia) earlier today, revealing that she’s been dropped by her label Island Def Jam. The daughter of James DeBarge released her debut album ‘Exposed’ in 2009 on the label. Among the 21-year-old’s Tweets:

Kristinia DeBarge talks about her favorite color purpleBehind the scenes footage of Kristinia DeBarge at her photo shoot for Baby Phat has been posted at her label. The pop singer said her favorite color used to be pink, but now it’s purple, showing off a pair of “really hot and fly” purple shoes.

“I am here for Baby Phat doing a shoot for Teen Vogue,” the pop artist said. “I love these sneakers. They got some Pure Cat right here. Purple is one of my favorite colors right now, and people say that when you change your favorite color, that means that you’re going through a transition in your life, which I am. It used to be pink, and now it’s purple. So I’m really excited about these shows. I think they’re really hot and a lot of girls will like them.”

Kristinia DeBarge talked with about growing up with Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC, being on ‘American Juniors’, her new single ‘Goodbye’ and shooting the music video for it. “Yes, I can tell you that it’s going to be a really good video,” DeBarge said of the ‘Goodbye’ treatment. “I got to choose the car in my video which is a 1966 Mustang. It’s red and it’s a convertible. Which I’m really proud of and proud to say because I love classic cars.
