Leah McLaren of the Globe and Mail shared her thoughts on Jessica Simpson, comparing the ‘Dukes Of Hazzard’ star to America’s president. “Think of her as the female George W. Bush. Like her president, she is a cipher — a blank slate who has been packaged into an icon,” McLaren writes. “This busty personification of Bush-era values has managed to elbow her way into the coveted wartime role of America’s Sweetheart — the one that Britney vacated the night she got hammered and hitched in Vegas. Unlike Spears, Simpson seems to have little angst or frustration about her role as the Good Girl.”

Jessica Simpson is not an ICON!…She’s and idiot who only got famous by acting like an idiot in her stupid ass reality show. I can’t stand her or Bush can’t wait till they’re no longer talked about!!!
Sometimes I can’t believe how famous this girl has become. Jessica Simpson on tabloids is mind boggling b/c 3 years prior no one even knew or cared about her and if it wasn’t for Newlyweds, she would’ve disappeared into the C list celebrity that she was. And then, all it takes is for a few dumb comments and a reality show to generate a star’s lackluster career. Had Newlyweds not come out, I couldn’t see her rising above her C list status.
Hey if I to pick from all the reality show instant stars, I would go with Jessica. =)

Jessica IS Better Than The Rest Of The Dumb Blonde Clones!’, ‘I think it’s interesting that people think that Jessica has replaced Britney Spears. Maybe, she has in a lot of ways but, I still believe that Jessica is her own person. She might not have made it in the entertainment industry if it wasn’t for her reality show & marriage but, it doesn’t matter. Everyone has their “it” thing that makes them a star & I guess reality TV & her marriage is her thing. I rather like someone for that reason versus liking someone because they are a filthy rich slut (Paris Hilton & Britney Spears) who’s in constant desperate for media attention.
Jessica has turned into a filthy rich slut too. And I gotta say that Britney worked f’, ‘or a lot of her fame. she basically built up her good girl image–by releasing solid dance hits and acting like a complete hypocrite in interviews. And I for one would rather be famous for that than having a rich daddy and or a publicized marriage or reality show.
Britney isn’t famous for just being a rich slut…’, ‘She got famous and then became a rich slut. I know why Britney is famous, paris…well that still baffles me.
