Timberlake: I Was Stoned When Punk’d By Kutcher
In Justin Timberlake’s cover story for Entertainment Weekly, the former *NSYNC star offered an explanation for his teary appearance on MTV’s ‘Punk’d’ (watch it below), where Ashton Kutcher, with help from Justin’s mother Lynn and pal Trace Ayala, had him convinced the government was seizing his property for unpaid income taxes.
“I’ll give you a little hint on that Punk’d thing. That was back in my first-album creative days,” Timberlake hinted. “That’s why I looked the way I did, if that makes any sense to you.”
When asked if he was stoned during the prank, Timberlake laughingly replied, “Incredibly. Yeah, that was a trippy experience. That was why I was completely glassy-eyed. As a matter of fact, I was like, okay, I got to stop doing this. I don’t do that anymore!”
It should be noted when arriving to his home to learn of the prank, Timberlake exited from the passenger seat of his SUV, so he was not driving under the influence.
