Top Britney Spears fan site WorldofBritney.com has closed down after a year and a half of operations. The site’s owner, Ruben Garay, primarily blamed his decision on “Britney Spears is not the same person she used to be” and no longer caring about her fans. Ruben also blamed the constant pressure from Jive Records who threatened lawsuits and attempted to control the site’s content. Meanwhile, Ruben revealed the only reason Britney’s mother Lynne is providing occasional diary updates is because she’s being paid to do it. Garay was also overworked on a website that he was losing money on.
