Kerli Talks SXSW, Style & Covering Katy Perry

Kerli is interviewed about her thoughts on Austin, being compared to Sailor Moon and her industrial cover of 'Teenage Dream' by Katy PerryBuzznet spoke to Kerli at the ‘Kiss Me Deadly’ party during SXSW about being compared to Sailor Moon, what the definition of Cyber-Barque style is, how she’s liking Austin, and what song she listens to to get her going. The Estonian pop singer also revealed to that she is currently working on a cover of Katy Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream,’ except with her own “hardcore industrial” interpretation.

Asked about how she’s liking Austin, Kerli said, “You know what, this is my first time so I haven’t really been able to go out a lot and see other people perform, but so far I really, really like it. People are really relaxed.”

Revealing that she’s often compared to Sailor Moon, Kerli said, “I get massive amounts of inspiration from fantasy and cartoon, so every time people say that I think yes!”
